This Old Man (He Played One)
(Rafael A. Nazario, piano)
(Unknown-traditional)
I'm pretty sure this was recorded back when I played at 72 (72 Market Street, in Venice, Ca.). I would sometimes string songs together and this medley starts with the childrens song, 'This Old Man', briefly visits "Diva" (Satie-esque theme from the French film by one Vladimir Cosmo) and I end up in "Tea for Two". Not sure how I got there, but hey, I landed.
his old man, he played one
He played knick-knack on my thumb
With a knick-knack paddywhack,
Give your dog a bone
This old man came rolling home
This old man, he played two
He played knick-knack on my shoe
With a knick-knack paddywhack,
Give your dog a bone
This old man came rolling home
etc.
